Overview
Under the direction of the Director of Recreation, assists in the development and implementation of a comprehensive recreation program for residents in accordance with residents needs and rules of regulatory body. Flexible hours required, including availability for weekends.
Responsibilities
• Conduct an assessment with each resident to identify residents’ needs, interests and skills for an individualized program plan.• Develop and implement services including group programs and one to one interventions for each resident of assigned unit within the context of the resident’s comprehensive assessment and care plan• Maintain documentation such as assessments, progress notes, MDS, care plans and daily charting.• Assist Director in evaluating the efficacy and effectiveness of recreational interventions in relation to resident’s needs• Participate in interdisciplinary care team meetings and ensure that recreation plan conforms to overall interdisciplinary Care Plan.• provide direction to the nursing staff in providing with physical, cognitive, emotional/behavioral, leisure and social interventions to residents.• Assist in development and maintenance of department quality assurance program.• Assist Director in education and direction of Recreation Leaders.• Supervise/ direct of assigned volunteers.• Maintains adequate amount of supplies and equipment.• In the absence of the Director, is responsible to the Senior Recreation Specialist for the daily operation of the department.• Participates in staff development program including attendance at mandatory education program.• Complies with guidelines of the HAZCOM program• Participates, as assigned, in Nursing Home Committees.• In the spirit of cooperation and in response to resident needs, it may be necessary to perform other related duties as requested and unrelated duties in case of emergency.Qualifications

• A.A. degree in Therapeutic Recreation or related field with experience in institutional or community programs.Experience Requirements

What is an Outside Plant Communications Specialist?
An Outside Plant Communications Specialist focuses on the Company’s outside plant third-party carrier circuits through necessary field deployments, maintenance, conversions, upgrades, vendor management, contract management, and performance standards. This role will develop, deploy, and support communications related projects across the company. Their expertise ensures seamless communication and operational efficiency, making them an asset to OT- Communications.
What does an Outside Plant Communications Specialist do?
- System Management: Oversees the day-to-day operation, maintenance, and optimization of the company's outside plant communication circuits including VOIP and POTS circuits as well as cellular networks
- Identifies and resolves complex technical issues related to communications systems, ensuring minimal downtime and high system availability
- Vendor Management: Collaborates with vendors to ensure smooth operations, negotiate service contracts, and stay updated with the latest product developments and innovations. Meets with vendors on a weekly or as-needed basis to ensure project work scope, status, and deliverables are adhered to. Monitors and escalates service tickets.
- Training and Support: Provides guidance and support to team members and end-users facilitating knowledge transfer and skill development
- Project Leadership: Participates in communications-related projects, taking the lead as necessary, and contributes to the successful delivery of projects within established timelines. Reports to team and other company departments on project status.
- While this role focuses on the management of third-party carrier circuits and services, an Outside Plant Communications Specialist will assist with other department goals and projects such as equipment turn-ups, field troubleshooting, inspections, performance and network monitoring
- Contributes to the development of best practices, service standards, and equipment capability standards for system reinforcement, design and operation
- Provides support for storm restoration efforts
What does it take to be an Outside Plant Communications Specialist?
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications, Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Information Technology, Electrical Engineering or a related field and experience in a technical role related to network/communications infrastructure. In lieu of a bachelor’s degree, an associate’s degree in the aforementioned fields of study and at least 3 years of related experience or a high school diploma or equivalency degree and at least 5 years of related experience will be considered.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and the ability to learn new computer software programs quickly
- Flexibility to multitask and operate under pressure in a fast-paced work environment
- Well-developed written/verbal communication skills
- Excellent problem-solving skills, with innovation in mind
- Strong analytical, organizational and quantitative skills
- Strong interest and aptitude for learning new technology
- Must perform all tasks safely and design with safety in mind
- Must participate in an after-hours on-call rotation, for 24x7 coverage
- Ability to drive to remote locations and be at remote sites, substations, or outdoor facilities at least half of the time
- Valid driver’s license

- Proficiency with ArcGIS and Autodesk
- Prior gas and/or electric utility experience
This position has a career path which allows for advancement opportunities within a job series. The title and level are commensurate with experience.
Pay range: $61,800- $144,900

About the Position
Under the direction of the Senior Program Supervisor, regularly travels across the Hudson Valley region to facilitate psycho-educational testing and assessments for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) and writes comprehensive, individualized summaries of results. Scores assessments and interprets findings, making recommendations for appropriate accommodations and/or employment or educational goals and presents at case conferences. Ensures services are scheduled and provided in accordance with contract requirements, completing required documentation and reports on a timely basis. Performs job development and job coaching services, as needed.

Key/Essential Functions & Responsibilities
Under supervision, schedules and administers psycho-educational testing/assessments to assess cognitive and other abilities and achievement levels of individuals with disabilities referred for evaluation and services across the Rockland to mid-Hudson Valley region, including Orange and potentially Dutchess counties.
Scores tests following appropriate guidelines and compiles ratings for assessments administered to each person we support (PWS).
Writes comprehensive, individualized reports for each PWS (9 – 14 pages) summarizing test results.
Interprets results of assessments and makes appropriate recommendations for accommodations and employment/educational goals based on strengths, weaknesses, achievement level and personal goals of PWS.
Presents the findings of the report and recommendations for PWS at a case conference including the PWS, referring ACCES-VR counselor and other relevant individuals (e.g. parents, school staff, etc.)
Supports employment services program needs and additional services by performing job development and job coaching services, as needed including:
Post-Secondary and Job Exploration Counseling
Career Exploration Assessments
Community based workplace assessments
Instructing individuals in Self-Advocacy
Providing Work Readiness training to groups in-person and remotely.
Facilitating services in alignment with state authorizations and timelines and requesting extensions as needed.
Conducts all work in accordance with agency policies/procedures and ensures confidentiality of records.
Completes all mandatory OPWDD/ACCES-VR/YAI trainings.
Builds and maintains Positive Relationships and rapport with people supported and circle of support.
Ensures billing and case notes are completed accurately and timely.
Completes monthly progress reports.
Performs all related work, as assigned.
Minimum Qualification Requirements including education, experience, licensure/certification, etc. and essential physical capabilities (e.g. lifting, assisting lifting, standing, etc.)
Master’s Degree in vocational rehab counseling or related area, approved by ACCES-VR; and
One year experience in vocational rehabilitation or other suitable fields (e.g. counseling, testing, working with the I/DD community, etc.); or
Satisfactory combination of education, experience and/or training approved by ACCES-VR; however, all candidates must have at least a bachelor’s degree in an approved area.

Routinely travel within the Rockland to mid-Hudson Valley region, including Orange and potentially Dutchess counties.
